We promote cricket in Catalonia.
Our mission: to drive cricket in Catalonia

Since 2013, we have organized leagues, participated in tournaments, and promoted cricket in schools, achieving significant growth in the community.
We are a federation dedicated to the development of cricket, with numerous initiatives to engage youth.

Before 2000
There is no specific evidence of when cricket was first introduced to Catalonia. Some information states that in 1982, Phil Smith founded the first cricket club in Barcelona. He also founded the first cricket club in Spain, Madrid Cricket Club, and organized a match between Madrid and Barcelona at the Pol Club field in Barcelona. Since then, very little cricket activity has been recorded in Catalonia.
After 2000
After the first cricket event, there was more cricket activity in Spain, but we haven't found any evidence of cricket activity in Catalonia. After 2000, a couple of new clubs registered and started participating in cricket events in Spain.
First Tournament
In 2007, cricket in Barcelona became more focused. For the first time in Catalonia, Falco Cricket Club organized a four-team cricket tournament in Tarragona. Although various communities organize tape-ball or softball tournaments from time to time, the cricket ball tournament was the first time it was introduced that year. The intention was to prepare for the upcoming La Manga tournament, which was held in La Manga, Murcia, in September 2007. Four teams participated in this tournament: Falco CC, Barcelona CC (now Pak Barcelona CC), Bengali CC, and Badalona CC (now Ali CC). Since then, the curve of improvement for cricket in Catalonia has begun to rise.
Catalan Cricket League
There was a Spanish Cricket League before 2008 in which 1 or 2 clubs from Catalonia participated several times. But for the first time, Catalonia witnessed the first cricket league in Tarragona. 12 teams participated in this tournament. The idea was to send the champion to participate in the final phase of the Spanish league. Barcelona CC won the Catalan Cricket League title and Barcelona CC was the runner-up in the Spanish league final.

Robert Masih Nahar (Founder-President)
Robert Masih Nahar began working to promote the sport of cricket in Catalonia in 2007, when there were only 3 cricket clubs, including the Catalunya Cricket Club, which he presided over. After hard work and much dedication, Mr. Masih organized the first official cricket tournament in Catalonia in 2009, with the collaboration of the Catalan Sports Council, in which 12 cricket teams participated.
Robert Masih Nahar founded the Catalan Union of Cricket Clubs in 2010, serving as its president until 2011. He also co-founded the Catalan Cricket Federation in 2013, and served until 2016 as the federation's vice president.
Catalan Cricket Federation
Once all the requirements of the Generalitat de Catalunya were met, the association of clubs was eligible to become a federation. The president of the union at that time, Mr. Khalid Shahbaz, held a meeting with all the clubs on April 22, 2012, to form the Federation. On January 11, 2013, the Generalitat approved the application to call the union of cricket clubs the Catalan Cricket Federation. Khalid Shahbaz Chouhan was elected the first president of the Federation.
2016 Federation Election
For the first time in 2016, the Catalonia federation witnessed the election of a new executive body. There were two competitors vying to take charge of the federation, Basharat Aziz Mirza and Hafiz Ghulam Sarwar. The election was held twice, and both times ended in a tie. Later, Mr. Ghulam Sarwar and his team withdrew from the election, and Mr. Basharat Aziz Mirza became the new president of the Catalan Cricket Federation for the next 4 years (2017-2020).
Catalunya Premier League – CPL
Following the format of IPL, BPL, PSL, Catalunya also presented its premier league in 2017 for the first time in Catalunya with 5 teams participating in this league. The Premier League of Catalunya (CPL) was a great success in which several Pakistani internationals played, such as Abdur Razzaq, Junaed Khan, and Saeed Ajmal.
Vote of no confidence
At the beginning of 2020, all clubs decided to hold a vote of no confidence against the current board of directors of the federation. Under the supervision of the UFEC, the federation organized the vote of no confidence, and the team led by Amar Saeed Khan Bibi was elected by the clubs to take charge of the federation for the next year. As soon as Mr. Saeed took over the federation, he began working to resolve all issues with the Generalitat and the city council, and started working to improve youth and women's cricket in Catalonia.
2024 Federation Election
After the previous board's term concluded, the federation has decided to announce a new election where the sole candidate presented was Mr. Ghulam Sabar, who was nominated president of the Catalan Cricket Federation for the next 4 years.
