Barcelona Qalandar crowned Division 1 champions of the 2026 Catalan League

Barcelona Qalandar have been crowned champions of Division 1 of the 2026 Catalan Cricket League after beating Pak I Care CC Badalona by 6 wickets in the final played on 6 September at Vidreres Cricket Ground.

Both sides reached the final as group winners, level on 12 points. Batting first, Pak I Care CC Badalona posted 217 before being bowled out in the 28.4th over. Ismaeel Zia top-scored with 69 off 71 balls (8 fours, 1 six), supported by Abid Mahboob (41 off 29) and Sikandar Ali (37 off 16). For Qalandar, Muhammad Asif (4/33) and Muhammad Arslan (3/17) led the bowling.

Chasing 218, Barcelona Qalandar cruised home with four wickets and 27 balls to spare (25.3 overs). The star was Abbas Waseem, who smashed 87 from just 48 balls with 4 fours and 10 sixes. Syed Faisal Hussain Shah (37) and Rauf Zaman (35) saw the job through on a memorable night for the club.

The title adds Barcelona Qalandar’s name to the competition’s honours list. The Catalan Cricket Federation congratulates the champions, the runners-up and every team that took part in Division 1 of the 2026 Catalan League.
