Como decimos en muchas ocasiones, uno de los objetivos de la Federación Catalana de Criquet es promocionar el Criquet, pero otro de ellos es potenciar el deporte base y por ello, este año hemos creado la Liga Sub19, donde los jugadores menores de 19 años puedan disputar una competición específica para su categoría. Actualmente en Cataluña hay diferentes clubes que tienen equipos de esta categoría, por eso hemos decidido crear una competición específica para ellos.
Como he podido comprobar, en esta liga competen diferentes equipos de toda Cataluña con un objetivo claro, competir al máximo nivel y dejarse la piel en cada uno de los partidos. Es verdad que, a diferencia de otras ligas organizadas por la Federación, en ésta hemos podido comprobar que los jugadores que participan llevan en sus venas al Criquet, no sólo por su técnica y por el juego que demuestran en cada partido, sino por el compromiso que tienen durante los partidos y los entrenamientos.
Cada uno de los jugadores, luchan por ganar cada partido, pero quizás esto es lo menos importante. Para la Federación lo que consideramos más importante, es el esfuerzo, la dedicación y el espíritu que demuestran cada día. Somos conscientes de que tras cada jugador y cada equipo hay una historia, una vida, pero cuando se encuentran en el terreno de juego están concentrados en ello.
